By Betsy Thorpe

On the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh month of 1918 a temporary truce was reached between the Allies and Germany. The following year Nashville celebrated the Wars end with a Victory Parade, establishing the tradition of the Armistice Day Parade ( now known as the Veteran’s Day Parade).

For ninety years, veterans, and military personnel have followed the parade route of the World War I Victory Parade in remembrance of the Armistice of the “War to end all wars” and in honor of all American Veteran’s.
