Telephone Scammers Target NES Customers

By Betsy Thorpe

On Monday officials at Nashville Electric Service issued a warning to customers that automated telephone calls claiming that NES has not received their electric bill payment is a scam, aimed at getting their personal and financial information.

Nashville Electric Service does not make outgoing collection calls. Customers receiving an automated call requesting payment on behalf of NES should hang up immediately. An NES spokesperson also stated that “field employees will never collect or solicit cash from customers for electric bill payments or for any type of work they perform”.

Customers with questions or concerns regarding their NES bill, can call Nashville Electric Service Customer Relations at 615-736-6900.
