"Gnash" Meets With Members Of West Nashville’s Youth Encouragement Service At Centennial Sportsplex Ice Rink

“Gnash” And The Nashville Predator’s Community Relations Coordinator Gina Maduri And Her Staff With YES Kids At Centennial Sportsplex Ice Rink

On July 31st the Nashville Predator’s Mascot “Gnash” and kids from the west Nashville summer program YES met at Centennial Sportsplex Ice Rink to celebrate the completion of this years summer session. Since 2005 members of the Predator’s organization have volunteered at YES as summer “Reading Buddies,” working one on one with the children to improve and enhance their reading skills. During the school year the Predator’s are involved in the YES after school program. Last Thanksgiving the organzation sponsored a “Turkey Shoot” inviting YES children and thier families to meet with team players for refreshments and games, including a ham and turkey “give away”. Speaking for the Nashville Predator’s organization,Community Relations Coordinator Gina Maduri said “We love YES, and we love working their kids.”

YES, ( Youth Encouragement Services) a non-profit community outreach program is located inside the Fred Rogers Center at 1605 56th Avenue North. For information on volunteer opportunities or to learn more about YES call David or Susie Estes at 350-7893.
